“You may have to break your heart, but it isn’t nothing to know even one moment alive.” The morning after a relationship of depth and significance long bending under the weight of its own complexity had finally broken with an exhausted thud, I opened the kiln to discover a month’s worth of pottery shattered — two...
The bunny came from home, which was already against the rules, but nobody said anything on the first day because Mira was crying and her mother looked like she hadn’t slept in a week and the admitting nurse had seen enough first days to know which fights to pick. His name was Pip. He was gray, or had been gray, and...
Sanjay asked me in a comment on my AMA post: Dear Kev, I am a fellow reader of multiple blogs of yours and others. But somehow I have been searching for any article where any one can setup of his entire digital life using subscription free model. I am not talking about to get everything FREE and become a PRODUCT. If...
I didn’t really read between December and March. I did a little Moby Dick, but mostly I worked on this website and chatting on IRC. I decided I should finally get back into reading again, so I could write this, if I’m being frank. He lost his keys in space by Luke Milton and Lizzy Lang I picked this up knowing it...
The mascot of ATmosphereConf is a goose, accompanied by the motto we can just do things. I thought about this line often while I was in Vancouver for the event. Everyone was active: writing, managing communities, building side projects or businesses on Bluesky, and building Bluesky itself. The energy was fertile and...
Two weeks ago, I discovered that Mistral.ai also provides a coding assitant, similar to GitHub Copilot (GHC), called Mistral Vibe (GitHub page). In those two weeks I’ve been using Mistral Vibe in parallel to GHC. Just because I wanted to try and see the difference! And just after a couple of days I noticed that […]
Vuosi sitten tein sen ensimmäisen kerran. Sain kauan, vuosia, kirjoittamani romaanin valmiiksi. Tai siis niin valmiiksi, että koin aiheelliseksi lähettää sen ensimmäisille kustantamoille näytille. 'Mitäs sanotte, aika hyvä, auttakees viimeistelemään.'
This post was written for this month's Bearblog / Grizzly Gazette Carnival. Thanks to Sage for hosting this event! The roseate spoonbill is among the six spoonbill species that can be found around the world. Also known as Platalea ajaja, this freshwater bird is the only native spoonbill species in the Western...
[Equations in this post may not look right (or appear at all) in your RSS reader. 2026-04-04Hello!Look, I promise I'm basically out of photos from early March. I've been posting a lot of photos from that time, specifically in the four counties of Adams, Lancaster, Montgomery, and York. These images are just interesting to me! I almost always go outside with a camera, and I take photos of whatever...
We are now starting April (and approaching this humble perennially virid online writing magazine’s sixth birthday). When a new month comes, an old month goes. Or in the case of March, it came in like a lion and went out like a lamb. I took this photo in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, on the afternoon of March 2, 2026....
So, until recently, I always knew there was something shady about LMG. Now I know it’s shitty. Linus Media Group makes mediocre videos, paired with with high-value sponsors, and has so much gear investments that it feels crazy. Companies also send hardware out to them free of charge, which they don’t need to pay...
I had managed to forget that have had this novella in my digital TBR for about three years, when a Bluesky post by the author reminded me that the story is set on April Fools’ Day; what better day to inhale it, eh? Full disclosure: ‘Nathan and I follow each other’s blogs and are mutuals on social media. Beware:...
Last month, I went to Zine Fest Tokyo as a visitor because one of my friends attended as a seller. Of course I bought one of their zines, and then I also went and looked at the other booths. At the end of the day, the small tote bag that I had brought with me was full with zines, stickers, postcards and other small...
March 2026. Malton. North Yorkshire. This won’t make a lot of sense to most of you, but my brain only really comes to life when I’m taking in new sights, sounds and smells experiences, which is why the repetition of those A1 trips from Sheff to Cambridge are so exhausting. But stick me on a train heading north-east...
I tried to use CalDAV tasks again. It did not go well. The problem with CalDAV tasks is often that every client only implements a portion of the massive spec. Sure, makes sense, nobody wants to implement all the stuff it has. But then you try to use different apps with it, and they all expect different things for...
D is for dream I know I said yesterday I wasn’t going to keep sniping the A to Z blogs word choice. But dang, ‘Dream’ is a great one especially when paired with the question of ‘What do I dream of’? I don’t dream of a collapse of society, I want a refocus. Suburbia collapsing from mc mansions into dome houses. Tool...
Pattern recognition is a skill that you get better at with each passing moment. When we are young we think things like "Why me", and see the world as so biased and unfair. As we age however, we start to recognize the patterns of life. The patterns of people and things around us, and the patterns that we adhere to....
After releasing blogmore.el v2.6 this morning, I noticed something about the post: the text that was marked up with <kbd> wasn't really standing out as keys. In blog posts, as in documentation, if I mention the name of a key, I like to mark it up with <kbd>. Ideally, with such markup, the styling of the page it's...
During my youth, I was a soccer player. Over time, this resulted in strong legs (great) but a pretty stiff lower body as well (not great). Stretching was always an afterthought, and I suppose for most amateur soccer players it’s the same. Now, a couple of years later, I wish I had paid more attention to it earlier...
What follows is an actual session I just had with the LLM I’m using for hobbyist development, Devstral-2, using the Mistral Vibe CLI. The application is a mod I’ve developed for the game Hytale .While looking at my server logs, it seemed as if the mod was perhaps not doing what it should. I copied a few lines from...

Quoted FROM PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP by Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) (Truth Social) WE GOT HIM! My fellow Americans, over the past several hours, the United States Military pulled off one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in U.S. History, for one of our incredible Crew Member Officers, who also...
Short, and late, rendition of Friday this week as I’m traveling. We took a spring break to Phoenix and were able to fit in a Project Hail Mary IMAX screening. It was excellent! Two of us have read the book, and we enjoyed both versions of the story on their own terms. We got in to Phoenix late on a Friday, stayed at...
This morning started ordinarily enough. Coffee, then a look at the balcony, overdue for its yearly spring cleanup. I've had years where I cursed myself on the first warm day for not sorting out my only outdoor space sooner. Nothing more annoying than wanting to enjoy the sunshine with nowhere good to sit. This year...

A hollywood court room drama about American chaos of black and white. Matthew McConaughey and Sandra Bullock’s chemistry was nice. It deserves 4 stars.
In ‘small thoughts’ posts, I’m posting a collection of short thoughts and opinions that don’t warrant their own post. :) It's been a while! ☁️☁️☁️ I know self love exists, because I feel it and my body lives it (most of the time). I know it’s easy to pretend that self love doesn’t exist, because a (negative) ego...

Last edited 11 minutes ago. I think I made a mistake. I posted something and too many people clicked on it. lol That wasn't the plan. You'd think there's no harm in that, but that post is not what this blog is about, and now I'm afraid there's ppl following my RSS expecting me to always talk about indie web stuff...
outside I went up a hill, two hills in fact, for the first time in a long time. Driesh and Mayar, a pair of Munros in Glen Clova. Near whiteout conditions were enjoyed on both summits along with some haribo tangfastics. ⛶↗ Fig 0: above Corrie Fee, looking back at where I'd come from. made of meat When emptying the...

Working in finance, I am subject to re-vetting every three years. 2026 is here, my turn is now, and lo and behold, my firm has switched to a new vetting agent. They have a shiny, bright website with lots of “LinkedIn speak”; you know: “we empower both employers and employees” and lots of “leveraging” and whatnot....
It’s a secret to everyone! This post is for RSS subscribers only. Read more about RSS Club. I’ve heard the term “Ozempic face” for awhile. People have opinions about that one, but I tend to feel like we should be comfortable with bodies changing. There’s also “Ozempic butt” and there’s even “Ozempic penis”. I’ll let...
for noticing the pinwheel fists swollen Like the times. Botnet bottleneck Down you go into it held by scattered clouds. You hear that Saxophone.
Two great posts about interaction latency on the hardware and software side. First is from Ink & Switch: There is a deep stack of technology that makes a modern computer interface respond to a user’s requests. Even something as simple as pressing a key on a keyboard and having the corresponding character appear in a...
There is an episode of the popular comedy series, The Office, where Ryan (the intern) sets up a “blog” for Creed Bratton (the eccentric quality assurance manager at Dunder Mifflin, Scranton). Creed, the guy who sprouted mung beans in his desk drawer for a healthy, and awful smelling snack. In an effort to protect...
I've been obsessing with weather from the very moment you returned to Denmark. And how could I not? The weather is so abysmal and unpredictable, it's hard not to be obsessed with it. Which probably explains why I've been spending most of my spare time on improving and tweaking Aerowetter. Besides a new color scheme...
Top Matter: Codeberg for the library, doc for the library. I’ve forked Lea Anthony’s library that eventually made its way into core Wails for two reasons: I want it in Wails 3 and it’s not there I want to shave a meg off the binary size by not providing the embedded installer exe So here we are.
