The OatmealArtists hate using it. Consumers hate consuming it And yet it thrives, like an Arbyâs built inside a protected forest. This whole comic nails itâespecially that line. The only people excited about AI art are those who see it as some sort of tech

Spent the morning and first part of the afternoon in the hospital to discover the reason for a problem. Blood work and tomography came back normal. Thankful for that. Doc thought it might be a bacteria. Gave me antibiotics. Typical doc thing. Plus zinc, floral, and funny tasting water to keep me hydrated. I hate...
There's a practical wishlist and there's an aspiration one, and it's fun to make it into a collage like this. After all, whatâs the point of online window shopping if not to mix and match them into a moodboard of wants? As usual, I always heavily drawn to blush pinks and rose golds, it's just work perfectly with my...
In September there seems to have been some blockchain spam repositories (see ycombinato, Git Coin) that tagged quite a few people, triggering GitHub notifications for those people. While GitHub reacted and removed the repositories, they didnât mark those notifications as read. Additionally, the notification icon on...
I attended IAC 2025 last week in my home city of beautiful Sydney! I figured I would publish some of my notes from the week. Apologies for not posting any photos of the event. It never occurs to me to photograph the random things I see, and I don't like photographing strangers. General Thoughts The theme of this IAC...

September 2025. Sheffield. A lot of short posts, as I donât want to keep you from Strictly Come Dancing or Softly Softly repeats or whatever you lot watch on telly. Back in Sheffield, I decided to have another go at the Sheffield half pint marathon after that setback of losing the pub map. Crookes looked⊠Continue...

The astronauts, who may depart as soon as February 2026, will not land on the Moon though. Their flight sounds like it will be similar to Apollo 8 in 1968, which yielded this incredible photo, taken by William Anders. The Artemis program will potentially pave the way for a longer term human presence on the [âŠ]
I think everyone has things they want to be good at. Strength, marshal arts, public speaking, etc.
Shared an afternoon, takeout food, thoughts, favorite bands, albums and songs with friends today. Collected music in a playlist. +
Lovely readers, I promise this is not turning into an AI blog1. I am merely documenting my baby steps. I use JIRA all the time. Itâs our bug2 issue tracker of choice. And, now that I am slowly incorporating Claude Code in my daily workflow for git commits and pull requests, it only feels natural to connect JIRA to...

I was having issues sorting out the redirects on Cloudflare and have learnt a few things on the way so am documenting them here â because I will forget it all whilst in the pursuit of happier things. Directory migration I made a major change to the structure of a section of my site /shorts/ has reverted back to...
I recently went to the local at gallery with my visiting Ma & JB. I've been in Broken Hill for five years and had never been. My first year or so was written off by the great pandemic panic and it only just re-occurred to me that a gallery is a good place to see beautiful things. Here are snaps of some of my...

Just read it, because its one of these horror stories that is so well written. Its better than horror. Its god damn interesting. I think what I liked most was...

For a while now, Iâve been considering running my own RSS aggregator ⊠for a couple of reasons (that donât matter here). In my shortlist were two popular candidates: Tiny Tiny RSS (ttrss) and FreshRSS. Due to lack of time and other priorites, I had not made a decision, which one to follow .. The [âŠ]
I didn't like all the time lost while going to and from work, but there's a certain joy to it that I've learned to appreciate a bit more.
Macromedia homepage, June 2000; via Internet Archive. After the hype and fear of Y2K (a.k.a. the Millenium bug) quickly faded in January 2000, the internet continued its mostly joyful rise in the culture. Sure, the dot-com bubble got pricked in March and then slowly deflated, but the web itself didn't stop growing....

I watched this movie a couple of days ago but didn't have time to post it because of moving out from one place to another. Anyway, Leonardo De Caprio is very picky in selecting a movie and that's why the expectation of movie to be good and unique is obvious. This movie hits the backbone of current American political...

Iâm thinking of adding search functionality for this blog, as well as some ActivityPub functionality that would allow people to follow the blog through sites/apps such as Mastodon....
