A few years ago while I started working on Lithia, I decided to use whatever takes me to my goal. Getting finished was the primary focus. And I did. With Zirric I want to take less compromise and build a better language. Performance and portability aren’t completely irrelevant anymore. This blog post is part of a...
Went to the yearly HOMEARAMA where they build model homes and have interior designers spruce them up and folks can tour them. + photos
I’m very critical of my art. I put a lot of effort into my illustrations, but each time I finish a piece I can’t help but clearly see all the flaws: The anatomy is wrong, the subject not interesting enough, those details distracting, or I’ve been lazy in some other aspect. There is always something I see that can be...
Today’s topic of the #Fotovorschlag reminded me immediately about our sunrise-tour that I did in 2023 with two colleagues. I don’t do a lot of …

The garden of our house in Lichfield backs onto a school playing field – which is good news because (a) it means the garden has an open view and is not overlooked, and (b) we both happen to like hearing the voices of children at play, at least when they're of primary school age. Gavin Ewart writes about this in a...
From the draft–a list about making lists to write. I don’t have any one method of writing. Sometimes, I show up and just start. Sometimes, I cannot work without a list, such as when writing craft articles. Sometimes, I use lists based on notes taken elsewhere, brief bullets no longer than a few words, then […]
one of my friends recently got his personal site up and running. his music section is awesome, he coded it so it would automatically put the albums that he gave 5 stars on critiquebrainz. THAT'S SICK!! album art gets dithered to match sites theme as well, it's wonderful.
well, what a week. a flurry of work, wayward roadtrip adventures and antics, and above all, wonderful encounters with whimsical, wise and wacky folk at BSides... i truly couldn't ask for much more. the kindness, acceptance and generosity i encountered over there was truly staggering, and is a testament to the...
Sometimes, I feel uninspired. Okay, so often times, I feel uninspired. My inspiration or as I call it my “idea generation mechanism”, often only functions in spurts. I’ll go days without thinking of anything new to write about or make a video on, and then BAM! 20 new ideas, right there in the inbox. Then I’ll go...

September 2025. Cambridge. Cambridge has gone Bass crazy. The Kingston started the trend, and now there’s a check-in at a Greene King flagship. I mean, it’s not their biggest public house, but the Free Press is where I learnt to love Greene King IPA, before CAMRA folk decided it was rubbish (shortly after declaring...

This TV series was a delightful treat for my mind—Slow and beautiful. You can imagine it from my comment on 4th episode: Oh dear. I felt so beautiful. My heart melted when Lizzy’s mind changed completely for Mr. Darcy. Ofcourse, I felt that money is a key factor but neither Mr. Darcy nor Lizzie give priority to...
It is not ageing that bothers you but the lifestyle which leaves you regretful and bitter
This song by Antiquity was released in December 2024, but I had forgotten to post it on my website. A Fools Paradise by Antiquity Notes Gerald quotes: Dictators are allergic to reform, and they are cunning survivors. They will do whatever it...
Hello! It's been way too long since the last time I did one of these. I had a long train and bus commute when I started this series, but once November hit I started driving all the way down to Hyde Park, which made it really difficult to read articles. Now I've got a train commute again, and I figure I have about...
Alex Kotliarskyi1, The Get Your Shit Together Day: The Get Your Shit Together day is a day off you take from work, family and other obligations. It’s a day you dedicate fully to things you’ve been always postponing. Fix squeaky door hinges, repot your plant, publish that blog post, start a side project. Really...
