So let's make it even more difficult, shall we? When I first saw the Top 9 anime that shaped who I am thing on bsky a few weeks back my thought process was "9 shows? Easy"...but then I realized I was leaving out movies. The more I thought about movies, the more I realized I was leaving out OVAs...and shit, dude -...

It's nice to enjoy little bits of randomness every now and then I caught a post by Robert Birming the other day on Bubbles about the idea of a random photo page (you can and should read his thing here) on blogs as a top level /page, and I loved it. Granted, I post photos alongside every one of my posts even if...

For example, an excuse to post selfies of Della and I Aging is wild, man. I spent so much of my twenties worrying that if I hadn't done X "life goal" thing by 30 my life was over because, frankly, that's what society taught me. I needed to have my music career locked in, etc etc and like I've fully embraced that at...

On the anniversary of the final day of chosting - some thoughts about where we've been (and maybe what's next?) ["COHOST MENTIONED" ALARM SOUNDS] My Eggbug mug is starting to chip and I fear for its safety every day It's September 30th, 2026 which means it's been exactly two years since the final day1 that anyone...

The name 'Vist' is not used in Hathaway 2, please make it stop With the second film in the Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway franchise, The Sorcery of Nymph Circe (probably shortened to Hathaway 2 from here on out) now available on demand and streaming, a lot more people have seen it...and this repeated misconception...

If you have also been waiting for a way to play this game without involving yourself in the Microsoft ecosystem, the time is near Ok so to catch you up; Young Suns is the latest game from KO_OP, creators of Goodbye Volcano High and so many more. It's an ambitious, multiplayer life sim that is set in the orbit of...

Up there with animals called "lesser" or "least" but with a twist As I've mentioned before on the blog, I get a certain amount of enjoyment from following the hourly bats account on Mastodon; it provides incredible pictures of our winged friends and teaches me just how much fucking biodiversity exists in the bat...

Learning new things every day! (We're ok btw) Around 7:20pm Sunday night there was an incredibly loud sound in our yard and my youngest kid shouted from upstairs "UHH HEY A TREE JUST FELL ON THE GARAGE" (Great way to start a wind down Sunday evening, fwiw) We went out (with many neighbors who'd also heard the sound)...

The "digital-only" format was a huge misstep and I'm glad they're finally correcting Today in Wizards of the Coast's State of the Formats blog post, they announced a few things but the notable one is that the Alchemy format is being retired. I'm not objective here. I know this. I accept this. I am pretty happy about...

I wanted it on the record that I started writing this piece on September 3rd, and boy has a lot happened since then lmfao How my distaste of Rebirth helped me realize that this series (beyond the original, that is) is just not for me and that's probably for the best In 1997, Final Fantasy VII launched...on a console...

I won't spoil it, go watch it and then come back Ok, we good? This has everything I want from classic Godzilla; human focus on solving or investigating the problem (the problem being giant fucking monsters), threat or commentary on nuclear weapons, and then juuuust enough of something slightly otherworldly (other...

You can change your future1 No, it's cool Possum. Make yourself at home up there. We did it, friends and foes! Another year of Blaugust behind us and I'm kinda thrilled to say that this year felt even more natural than last. 2025 was not only my first Blaugust, but effectively the first anniversary of blogging...
