Greetings, wanderer! You've reached my personal homepage. Let me introduce myself: I'm Michał, a middle-aged nerd from southern Poland who can't grow a beard to save his life. Beardlessness is a problem amongst older nerd crowds, so instead I have an old school, static website. The maximize the street cred, this site is fully self-hosted and self-built In fact, you are talking directly to my home server located in the living room. The HTML you are processing is generated by my custom Python SSR and is written in Vim.

I may have lost the race with Ruben, as he reached page 1000 before I reached post 500 (he also didn't knew we were racing), but here we are. On the first day of the 41st year of my life I am publishing the 500th post here. Yey! It took 3 and a half years, and here we are. A big, fat site. A big site if you may. A...
Finally someone reminded themselves that there is life outside of the bridge. Jeneway goes on a mission with a few underperforming crew mates hoping to mentor them. Cpt. Picard is known to be greatest manager of all time. Jeneway... is not. She is overconfident, even if Delta Quadrant warrants that. Here, she has...
It has happened. I did what I could: sit all day, drink alcohol, pretend sports don't exist, eat sugar. I tried, but it's here: I'm officially middle-aged, and I blame not being able to smoke cigarettes for it. This validates a little postmortem look back. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⣶⡀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀...
I disliked this episodes from the get go, as I've coughed a glimpse of the synopsis. One of the Borg-kids on the Voyager, Icheb, is reunited with his family and it goes wrong. Well, authors pulled a fast one me and I ended really enjoying it. And while, yes- most of it went as I expected. Seven was not buying it,...
Earlier this year I've read the Earthsea series, and it wowed me. However, everywhere I look, people are praising Left Hand of Darkness as the greatest book by Ursula Le Guin. It is straightforward to obtain (there are a few copies in my local library, a very rare sight), but it comes with a huge problem: it's part...
As much as I like Lynx, the default behavior tends to be buffing. It's also more challenging than I would have expected to adjust it in a same, versioned way. This required using a custom config file and finding a way to use bright color scheme. First: config. Lynx supports multiple ways to inject custom...
With the terrible Windows 11, and with the fiasco of EOLing Windows 10, we should remind ourselves that Microsoft was always a shady, nepo-baby company. Some of us know this story well, some not. But it's always nice to tell the abridged version, perfect around the 4th Guiness pint. IBM in their prime, were planning...
So, this has happened. Again. I rewrote my entire static site renderer from scratch and what you're seeing is "msite 2.0". It should differ very slightly from what was here yesterday, but with time, I want to make some cool things. Those will be revealed in time, but for now: the meat. I know you shiver with...
When the The Unbearable Lightness of Being: The Movie was out, it was unescapable. I was far too young for it, so I have never seen, but still: I remember that the marketing for it was everywhere, and the discussions about it were ever present. At least in Poland. Earlier this year, I've read The Joke and I really...
My Jarmusch (re)watch continues with a movie I have not seen before. So far, I am on track to finish this by the end of the year, and I am sure enjoying the ride. What about Mystery Train? Jarmush, how the hell do you do this? You were still relatively unknown, and you're getting great cast.. again. We've got Steve...
