Greetings, wanderer! You've reached my personal homepage. Let me introduce myself: I'm Michał, a middle-aged nerd from southern Poland who can't grow a beard to save his life. Beardlessness is a problem amongst older nerd crowds, so instead I have an old school, static website. The maximize the street cred, this site is fully self-hosted and self-built In fact, you are talking directly to my home server located in the living room. The HTML you are processing is generated by my custom Python SSR and is written in Vim.

The last episode was a huge disappointment, so why not do it again? This time Torres is stuck on a planet. A group of actors is creating a play and decide to base it on the Voyager and her stories. Overall, this is much more interesting story than the last, and not only because that one had no redeeming qualities....
A group of con artists is going around the Delta Quadrant pretending to be the crew of Voyager. What have the authors made with this fantastic concept? Some laughs? Is the crew seeing themselves in a mirror? Maybe some insight into themselves? The answer is: disappointment. This could have gone in a lot of...
It appears that everyone recently discovered The Dead internet theory and agreed that it's now a fact. Slop takes over, there is nothing valuable left on the internet. If you don't care enough to click the above link: the theory states that the internet was taken over by bots and generated content. That's sprinkled...
I'm progressing though the Hainish cycle in a semi-swift pace, but I have yet to be wowed. City of Illusions is the third in the cycle, but also the last of the first trilogy. Just to make it a bit more confusing than it should. League of Worlds is no more, destroyed by an alien race called Shing. Humans are living...

Mastodon is a distributed social network built upon ideas of privacy, security, and data ownership. You know, the exact opposite of corporate-owned ones. Masto-mailo-inator is a small program which allows reading Mastodon from the comfort from your modern email client. It works by reading mastodon API and storing...
Press F to pay respect. One of my drives stopped spinning and now my raid-0 2-drive media volume is no more. The 6TB WD-Red spun it's last spin yesterday, after 5 years of non stop service. Yes, all of my totally legit movies and series are lost, like tears in rain. Redundancy may not be backup, but it still costs...
Things I am doing now: Masto-mailo-inator: A way to read Mastodon in email client Toying with Python: it's a nice language! Toying with VIM and Shell: I've been Emacs-type of guy for years, and am returning to plain, old shell Reading Hainish Cycle Reading Practical Vim Reading The Unix Programming Environment...
The second novel in the Hainish cycle was released the same year as the fist. This would often spell trouble, but not here. I liked Planet of Exile much more than I liked Rocannon's World Let's start with the most important aspect, which I will touch upon with every volume: I hate omnibuses. There's a special...
