The Saga Otaimatsu Torch Festival is held every March 15 at Seiryo-ji Temple, celebrating Buddha's passing. Three 7 meter tall torches are set on fire, with giant flames and embers flying everywhere. In fact, it's said to be good luck if embers land on your clothes....

I originally took a photo of this stone pillar in the bamboo grove, marking a "Historical Cultural Landscape Conservation District" in order to study what it says, but I like the calm atmosphere in this image, a place being preserved by the City of Kyoto....

Seeing Mt. Fuji when I pass by on the Shinkansen never fails to excite. And this location crossing the Fuji River is my favorite place to shoot. 新幹線で通り過ぎるときに富士山を見ると、何度見ても感動する。そして富士川を渡るこの場所は、私のお気に入りの撮影場所だ。
