It's not much but it's pretty Growing up in California, (specifically in the bay area and then spending adult years in the Coachella Valley) most of my life has been framed with the old expression "Snow is a place you go, not a thing that happens". Understanding that California is not a monolith and contains...

In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop Previously On As mentioned in the last Daily Dex post, I got VERY VERY sick and lost about a whole week of real life to it - but as I could, I continued the drawings from bed. Now that I'm better, I've photographed and am caught up: Sun 11/30/2025...

Hey two quick things if you're new here! First - hi, I'm MSD: I front a chiptune/orchestral indie music band collective thing called Curious Quail and I'm bad at promoting our music so I'm gonna be doing that right here before the blog post proper. Skip below if you don't want to buy music I guess lmao (it may take...

In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop Quick caveat up front; Saturday night I got incredibly INCREDIBLY sick (don’t wanna go into it but I’ve legitimately never thrown up that much in my life) and by the time I’m posting this (Thurs 12/4) I’m only now in “not dying” mode. Once I’m well...

In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop Thurs 11/27/2025 - Morpeko It's Thanksgiving day here in the US; a holiday predicated on lies about 'peaceful relations' with the indigenous peoples of North America that the colonists violently killed and stole land from - in our household it's...

Gigabash is actually good without all the DLC but it's nice to see the big three together finally This week, the latest DLC for Gigabash launched which brings characters from the 2023 CG anime version of Gamera to the battle. I've been banging the drum about Gigabash for a while; it's an incredibly fun battler from...

In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop Fri 11/21/25 - Hisuian Voltorb For each of these sometimes I'm directly inspired, sometimes I just roll a random number. Voltorb was the latter; I got '100' on the list and thought sure, but since I played a fair amount of Arceus I wanted to do the...

A silly problem to have, but it's mine I've got this mug that was a present from my family. I love it. It makes me really happy because I drink a lot of coffee and I make a lot of music on gameboys and it was a really thoughtful present!! It's heat sensitive so a full cup of coffee (or tea or other hot beverage, I'm...

In which I challenge myself to draw a pokemon every day until I stop It's been a busy week so let's jump in! Tues 11/18/25 - Oshawott Man I've got no attachment to this thing but it IS cute and I legitimately hate how it's final evolution converts it from a cute otter biped to like, a weird quadruped dinosaur seal....
