Greetings, wanderer! You've reached my personal homepage. Let me introduce myself: I'm Michał, a middle-aged nerd from southern Poland who can't grow a beard to save his life. Beardlessness is a problem amongst older nerd crowds, so instead I have an old school, static website. The maximize the street cred, this site is fully self-hosted and self-built In fact, you are talking directly to my home server located in the living room. The HTML you are processing is generated by my custom Python SSR and is written in Vim.

Back in my high school days, my best friend swore for Masterton. Last year I've read his The Pariah and quite enjoyed it. It was a nice, easy read. So, when I saw The House of Hundred Whispers in the work's library (yes, we have one), I grabbed it instantly. Now, after my The Wife forced me to go through The Big...

I discovered The Darkside Detective when I was looking for Lucasarts inspired adventure games - I wanted an apéritif before a full play through of the originals next year. It was said to follow the style of humour and puzzle design so I was intrigued. Moreover, I have never played an adventure game without a story...

The Dispossessed is the biggest volume of the Hainish Cycle and follows a genuine disappointment. Quite a significant risk on ending on a downer (I don't have access to the last 2 volumes... yet.) But, somehow, the ever present praises were right. There are two must-reads in the cycle: The Left Hand of Darkness and...
This is it, we're wrapping the penultimate season of Voyager. Things are going to hit the fan. Borgs will Borg, and Jeneway will Jeneway. Yup - we're closing to the end of Star Trek: Borg Series. Turns out there's a hidden Borg network, where the drones can be free. Some of them possess a gene, which allows their...
We are proud owners of a Roborock robot vacuum. We love it unconditionally, like every proud owner of a robot should. It may be a Chinese honeypot giving them 24/7 surveillance over our lives, it may require a crappy iOS/Android program to operate, it may get lost all the time and needs babysitting like a dimwit,...
Broken Sword is one of the most successful point and click games of all time. I vividly remember how much praises were thrown its way after the release; the reviewers were ectatic. I played it much later, maybe around 2005. It was great! But now they released a remaster version, so I played it again. And guess what:...

Voyager is going through a nebula and needs to power down, and therefore going into complete blackout. Neelix decides to comport the borg-kids by telling them a scary story. The most surprising aspect of this episode was that I did enjoy it. Neelix telling a scary story sounds terrible, but I was proven wrong. While...
The fifth novel in the Hannish Cycle is the first time I can say that I hated something by Le Guin. There always have to be a first time. We go back in time, and the League is still a thing. We are at the planet Athshe where a mostly peaceful Athshean live as one with nature in a never-ending forest. But evil...
