Greetings, wanderer! You've reached my personal homepage. Let me introduce myself: I'm Michał, a middle-aged nerd from southern Poland who can't grow a beard to save his life. Beardlessness is a problem amongst older nerd crowds, so instead I have an old school, static website. The maximize the street cred, this site is fully self-hosted and self-built In fact, you are talking directly to my home server located in the living room. The HTML you are processing is generated by my custom Python SSR and is written in Vim.

A little update on my side. The friend who borrowed me a PS4 a few... years ago is taking a longer vacation on the outskirts of Asia. As a result, I am now a temporary house for a Sony Play Station 5 (and a plant). I'll read less, watch less, and the time is limited and there are games to be played! Therefore, I am...
I vividly remember watching Dead Man for the very first time. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I freaking loved it - it was smart, deep, had Depp. And then I saw it again, and initially, I hated it. The cinematography was ok-ish, the story was not working, the jokes were forced, and I was angry....
Finally, after my hard drive failure became a thing of the past, I am able to return to my Jarmusho-tron. And this time we're jumping into the glorious 90s, also known as "the golden age of independent cinema" As Jarmush entered the new decade, he decided to make his last movie again, but this time better. Night on...
I am not much of a gamer (as you can clearly see on the game revies page), but I do game. Recently, the Adventure Game Hostpot site (aka THE site for adventure game fans, but it's a long story) published their top games of the last 25 years list. I am sad to report that I played only few of them: #25 – Foolish...
Aphantasia is one of those conditions where one goes: "huh? This is not normal?". Well, I have close to no imagination. I never had it, so when I learned that some people experience reading differently, I was shocked. The most obvious thing which come out of it is my lack of enjoyment from the Lord of the Rings...
The recent Appleseed reignited my interest in classic Japanese SciFi. I started to look for more of Shirow's works and boom - Black Magic M-66 was there. I have never heard of it before! The anime is a 1987 OAV which clocks at 47 minutes. There used to be lots of low-cost straight to VHS releases of anime, but not...

I haven't read anything by Stephen King in ages, and, when I found Dolores Clairborn at our office library, I thought to myself: after all this time? Why not? Then The Wife tried it before me and dropped oud a few dozen pages in, so why again: why not? Dolores is accused of killing Vera Donovan, for whom she was an...
Appleseed used to be very popular, and Masamune Shirow call it his finest creation. Bold, since he also created Ghost in The Shell! Well, I now watched the a-bit-older adaptation and the results are mixed. The 1998 OAV movie doesn't tell the story of the manga; instead, it's a small, stand-alone story set in the...
