I used to think that reading would make me wise. One day, ten pages before finishing a book, I realized that I had read that same book before. At that point, my perspective on reading and, therefore, my life had changed. Now, I don’t care how many books I read; I take many notes, connect dots, and share what I’ve found on my blog and newsletter. I’m interested in many things at the same time (I’m a multipotentialite). On this blog, you’ll find me talking to about multiple aspects of life like leadership, software engineering, philosophy, psychology, software architecture & design, urban & industrial design, exercising, finance, Formula1 Racing, eating healthy, and many more. I’m a software engineering manager; that’s my current job. At home, I’m a writer and an avid reader. I rarely watch TV, movies or TV series. I don’t have any social media account (except Mastodon where I have automated posting of my new articles). Hence, I often miss the popular culture references in conversations. That’s alright. I don’t have FOMO; I embrace JOMO. I rarely read fictional books.

From the day that I stepped into a manager role till today, I've been relying on other people to do my job. Every passing year, I sacrificed a piece of my software engineering 'expertise' to organisational constraints.: the work that...

I watched this video that shows (and also explains) the universe from the Big Bang till now. The moment you see the human is the last thing, as a fraction of a second. That tells how insignificant we are in the universe. However, it's...

When you onboard someone to the team, what do you care about? Their contribution, whether they solve the right problem in the right direction. The same should apply to the AI. You must treat AI as a teammate. Consider them as junior...
“What happens to writing when the production of prose no longer guarantees the presence of a mind behind what’s written?” James O’Sullivan, Psyche.co, 29/05/2026 Then James answers with: “Writing has always asked of the person who does...
James O’Sullivan argues in his essay on Psyche.Co, “Essentially, the criteria for valuable writing might shift to provenance, from fluency to accountability, and writing that matters will be writing that can still function as evidence of...
I always wonder what kind of businesses I’m unaware of because the founder chose to stay off the popular culture. It feels like most companies are either backed by VCs or publicly known. I don’t think I want to create a startup. I want...
The difference between spec-first and plan-to-implementation is the same difference between what to build and how to build. Initial analysis with AI and specs should focus on what to build, not how to build. In the engineering world, two...

Software engineering as we used to know it is dead. AI condensed the code-writing step of the process from days to minutes. Engineers found themselves having many tasks on their plates, running many agents in parallel. They are burning...
Many people are struggling to understand what they think about AI and how to approach it. Perhaps the bigger problem is that the technology is not fully deterministic but probabilistic. I quite like the framing of the idea Dan presents:...
