Without beating around the bush, the major event of this week was a colonoscopy. This year I decided to follow up with a couple of minor medical issues that I’ve experienced in the recent past, figuring that there would be no harm in getting them checked out by the experts. This specific procedure was recommended by...

You’ve probably seen headlines about AI companies claiming they’re building “superintelligence” or that we need to worry about controlling AI before it gets too smart. Let me explain what’s actually going on. The Magic Trick Imagine someone shows you an incredible calculator. This calculator can solve math problems...

There has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding DHH’s Omarchy. If you haven’t heard of it, Omarchy is a pre-configured Arch Linux setup/distro using Hyprland. It’s sleek, beautiful, and comes with all the bells and whistles. The big driving factor for building this is DHH himself moved from MacOS to Linux and...
A simple mindset shift that helps me build my running mileage without the overwhelm.
It's 2 a.m. and I'm sitting at my desk with my planner and nearly all the lights in my apartment open. A huge storm the size of the country is supposed to make landfall later today. I haven't felt this nervous about a typhoon in a long time. It's literally the size of the Philippines. What are you even supposed to...

Bajar esa...

I don't think there is a need for an introduction of this book, as hollywood already has a legendary movie, The Shawshank Redemption, based on this book. Its a pity that I was completely unware of the existence of this book even though I watched the movie many times. This book is one of the finest non-horror fiction...
Along the journey, I enjoyed gathering up brochures and little souvenirs to remind me of each place we went. Because we were traveling by car, we made a lot of stops to rest areas along the way. I always like going to rest areas, because they are full of so many trinkets! Some of the brochures I gathered showed...
It can be a blip or linger a little, but it's always there — a recollection when using a gifted item. Currently Listening: Pearl Jam “Oceans”Reply via email
Whenever I see passages in Sonia's writing, I can't help but wonder if the writer wrote from own experience.
One of the biggest problems about pkm solutions is syncing. As such, it’s usually one of the few things that you get charged for when going with something like Obsidian. Silverbullet is a simple way to self host a pkm setup. A single docker container does the interface, database, and syncing service. Throw in vim...
On the Works in Progress magazine 2025-11-09 So since I published TIR: Magical systems thinking, I thought “Hey I only learned about this Works in Progress magazine yesterday, like 3 hours before publishing the post. Where does it come from?” It turns out that the magazine is owned by Stripe, a payments engine...

I'm writing this from the airport in Phoenix. Waiting for a flight to Kansas. Something I've had planned for several months. I'm headed back to my hometown to help for a few days on my family's Christmas tree farm. Yesterday, my original flight (scheduled for Monday) was cancelled. Based on the news coming out of...
My 2.5 year old Nadia told me some lovely sentiments as we walked today.
I was feeling sad and overwhelmed and unmoored yesterday so after work I didn’t go to the gym or get groceries or any of the other things I should do. Instead I...
I use a NETGEAR WAX 202 router running OpenWrt as my wireless access point. Unlike my router (MikroTik hAP ac3 running MikroTik’s RouterOS), it does not update automatically (I configured a script for the router after having previously upgraded it the old-fashioned way). I forgot about AP updates for some time....
VNC on a OpenBSD virtual machine OpenBSD comes with the vmm(4) hypervisor and vmd(8) daemon. It is easy to create and install an OpenBSD virtual machine on an OpenBSD workstation. For more information, see the Virtualization page in the OpenBSD FAQ. Running one or more OpenBSD virtual machines on your OpenBSD laptop...
Lily, Cosmo and Davo. Perhaps they could form a band?. I read somewhere that Lily Allen had released a new album. I remembered liking her trashy pop back in Thailand when I was doing the Muay Thai with Ev. I went poking around the internet looking for it. I signed off streaming subscriptions yonks ago and the last...
Don’t look at me like that, you know you want to answer them too.
I recently came across a few blog posts via my RSS reader from people explaining their Inventory. At first I didn't quite understand the context of the term but after reading a few blog posts I got it. I've never been a video-game player so the concept was a bit alien. An Inventory is everything you are carrying on...
I've been reading about a character called Richard Brothers, who styled himself as, among other things, the Revealed Prince of the Hebrews, the Slain Lamb of the Revelation, and God Almighty's Nephew – this last title, in particular, attracting mockery in some quarters (its justification was that the British are in...
