I encountered a post from Ning this week that offers a robust look at the organization system she uses to keep track of her life. I don’t mean a mere journal; this is far more comprehensive. Yet she writes, “It’s simply a matter of organizing the information [..].” That choice of words—simply—is utterly astounding...
When you first start into the rabbit hole that is Linux, you see that there are hundreds if not thousands of distributions that you can pick to use. While this can be quite intimidating, there are only a select few that are the root of the tree that all others are derived from: Debian, Arch and (some would say)...
The source files that make up the Krita dithering brushes bundle is made publicly available on Codeberg.
Recently, I’ve been completely absorbed by the newly released Gundam Card Game. After doing a few booster set and starter deck release events, I went to my first local constructed tournament for the game last week and had a blast. My expectation was that many players would be playing late game control decks based on...
The other day I received what I think will be my last Crowd Cow box. There’s a few reasons for this:
"i'm inspired by you". someone said this to me recently. not even just one person, but several. several people whom i look up to myself, and admire immensely. and their words struck me harder than most anything has, as of late. because they shattered and exposed my crust, revealing the depths of how utterly hollow i...
If you’ve followed me over the last few months as I’ve worked to fill this blog with content, you’ll know that I’ve struggled with adding a comment system. I wrote two blog posts about it, maybe more. My struggle wasn’t whether to have comments at all, but rather finding the best commenting platform. I eventually...
To the unknown journeyman I promise to show courage in upholding my vows What is an adventure if not the commitment to keep going?
thead td { font-weight: bold; } th, td { padding: 0.5em; } table { text-align: left; padding-bottom: 3em; } td:nth-child(1) { text-align: right; } I downloaded the Tranco list of top domain names and ran DNS MX lookups to detect mail servers. I used the top 100,000 domain names, which should be a reasonably sample...
Narzędzie, do którego dorzuciłem trochę swojego kodu, to prosty konwerter historii transakcji, którą można wyeksportować z...
It never gets properly dark in the city, for me. There's always a car, always a siren, always my own lights kept on because I'm still cramming for something. Cities never sleep, but my hometown does. The dark is alive here. Not in a creepy way, but in a biodiversity way. I'm writing this while listening to the night...
Mel Conway's seminal paper "How Do Committees Invent?" (PDF) is commonly paraphrased as Conway's Law: Organizations which design systems are (broadly) constrained to produce designs which are copies of the communication structures of these organizations. This is deep organisational insight that engineering leaders...
Algo a...
weeknote #25.06 Sunday, 25. August, 2025 Just spent the whole week at the seaside. This is one of our best ways: a cute little special house with very modest amenities: kitchen, water from the well (needs pumping, filtering/cooking), stone house not for tourists but more for family and friends, which shows in how...
