In this post, we’ll explore how redirects work in Rails: what they are, how to redirect manually, and how the redirect_to method simplifies things. We’ll cover common use cases, security considerations, and even dig into the Rails source to see how redirect_to works under the hood.

SPOILER ALERT! Grey's Anatomy Season 13 or 14. The resistance was being accused of "mutiny" and doing a "coup", which ... sure. But it was framed (by those in power) as bad or wrong. It wasn't wrong. It just wasn't what the person in power wanted, and that person in power had no respect for anybody but herself. Dr....

Recently, I was made aware of a paper in which I was acknowledged. This came as quite a surprise; I had only spoken with this group as a single email following a post on secret.club. In essence, Leo (i.e., Ao Li from the paper) reached out as we had quite the topic collision -- the effect of mutating bytes which are...

Tennis taught me how to deal with losses, how to stay calmer under pressure, and how to be honest in difficult situations. For example, when I was a kid, I sometimes faced players who liked to cheat a lot in the junior tournaments....

A 4 minute video that aims to introduce the Fediverse to people not familiar with it

I haven’t really wanted to admit it to anyone, much less myself, but for a while now it’s been painfully clear that I am mentally, temporally, and financially over-committed. It wouldn’t even be wrong to say that I’ve been in that state for a few years now. But recently, something has changed in my life, and that...

Or perhaps, I have a fat baby face. 🤣 But, I am, in fact, 40 years old. March 28, 1985. I’ve talked about it before, back near my...
