The second season of this critically-acclaimed drama set in the Tang Dynasty continues its high quality with its haunting mysteries, masterful twists and deep storytelling. The heart of the show: The brotherly relationship between Su Wuming and Lu Lingfeng, is tested by political intrigue this season.

NOTE: The following historic argument is more or less taken whole cloth from Yannis Varoufakis' "Technofeudalism: What killed capitalism". Go read the book if you want a better explanation. The conclusions drawn from the historical argument are mostly mine. So obviously advertising has existed as long as markets...

I've been looking for a plain-text export for social media posts. Nothing is out there that satisfies. Mataroa isn't exactly a social-media site, but it offers export in markdown format. May be the best option out there. We watched grandson (no. 10) play soccer this afternoon. I've kept up with the simple Scripture...

I strategically filed for two vacation days, extending my break to six days. What can I say? I'm clever like that. Needless to say, I spent the break chasing airplanes, and the gorgeous weather made the pursuit even more enjoyable. I spent most of Wednesday on the P2 rooftop at NUE. There were plenty of movements...

A story where human creativity and art disappear as a result of artificial intelligence usage and prevalence. Written from the perspective of someone in the future.

After the earlier-in-the-year (or was it late last year?) fracas with amazon retroactively changing their DRM policies to essentially vendor-lock their libraries to devices running their e-Reader application (or, indeed, their own line of E-Readers), I’ve been more than a little peeved with them. I’ve long held the...
