I tried to compress Yanis Varoufakis "Technofeudalism - What Killed Capitalism" into 4 poorly drawn comic panels License: Treat it like some bathroom graffiti
This Rocket Yard article led me to the LeaderKey app for macOS. And that's exactly the launcher I have been looking for since I switched to macOS.
I love the Kate Text editor. I use it for pretty much all the programming projects I do. Kate has been around for long time now, about 20 years! At least earliest blog post for it I could find was written in 2004. I wanted to go over my workflow with it, why I like it so much and hopefully get more people to try it...
This is a lot more complicated than it needs to be, and completely self-inflicted, but it worked in the end!
Long time, no see – hi again! If you’re a regular visitor of this blog, you might have noticed that my post frequency on here dropped quite a bit since starting uni. And even more so since the start of the new year. But a lot has happened and changed meanwhile, so that’s what I want to talk about in this post. Let’s...
Many moons ago (in fact long ago so that contemporary sources are beginning to be difficult to find), iPhone users were told they’re holding their phones wrong. This was one of the more memeworthy communication blunders of Apple and something we’re unlikely to see from them, but the reason I mention it here is that...
So often we need to do "hacks" like this in the Apple ecosystem. This one seems pretty straightforward but it would be great if we had an arbitrary custom metadata field available in cases like PHPhoto. CNContact also comes to mind as I've been using Contacts framework in Village. ⬣
Looks like I’ve been challenged to another blogging challenge by Joel! When did you first get interested in technology? To tell the truth, I can’t think of a time I wasn’t interested in technology. We always had a family computer growing up and it seemed like magic to toddler me. I grew up playing all sorts of...
Something the internet is missing is a review of a Thames Solar Electric boat by someone who has actually bought one, and owned it for over a year. There are at least ten of these boats on our waterways, but there's never been a detailed review (though there are a couple of very bad reviews on Google and Trustpilot,...
April 19, 2025 I’m tinkering with editors to write blog posts that integrate with my 11ty site. Posts need front matter and must be in Markdown, so the editor has to load my 11ty project and let me drop new posts into the right folder. It also needs to play nice with GitHub Desktop. Since I’m not coding anymore,just...
🖋️This article is one part of my series on Robert (Bob) C. Martin's SOLID principles. Definition The original and most quoted definition of SRP is this: A class should have only one reason to change. Excuse me, I'm here for "The Single-Responsibility Principle." This is it? Oh, I expected something else... So is it...
