The Folkmoss Logs
The Folkmoss Logs
I'm the Folkmoss. I'm a human from Earth and this is my weblog, or, how I like to call it, my living web book. This is a place where I write about nostalgia, personal experiences, media in general and interesting things I find on and offline. This space is a personal experiment, so consistency won't be the focus here. I post mainly in English but you'll see eventual Portuguese (my mother tongue) floating around sometime.

Evenings at the temporary home office. I really love my auntie's home library. I love that I was born in a family of book lovers who also aren't complete bigots. Not to say they're the most progressive, but almost all are good people willing to learn. I'm so lucky. I miss my cats and my partner and my city, but...
Some time ago I got my hands on a Boox Palma, and diligently got to organizing my reading apps (and reading lists) on it. I downloaded all the basics for me: BookFusion, Kindle, Audible, Storytel. I was feeling ecstatic with this new toy and its possibilities! As with any bookworm, I have a ton of books on my...
It is I, the workspace. Featured my mini pc and portable monitor, Switch playing some bkg music, Boox Palma as my clock and paper planner on the side. Got to my auntie's on Monday, and finally finished setting up my workspace here. I'll be staying with her until late March. I got a big translation project to tackle...
Loving my Boox Palma, y’all! Been using it every day for a few weeks now and tried all sorts of things in it. I bought it second hand, but it came in mint condition and working perfectly. The Palma fits in my planner’s pouch, so I can take it with me any and everywhere. It’s also great for nighttime reading. I use...
I've been having so much fun on the open web... Tinkering with my blog and my listography, reading blog posts by fellow netizens, just discovering things by going down resource lists and neighborhood rabbit holes and webrings... It's ridiculous how miserable social media makes us. And now every time I hear someone...
This is a comparison list with the 2025 edition. At that time I was kickstarting the mission of becoming more aware of the type of digital products and services I used. Now it's time to see how much has changed since then. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the upgrades/changes I've made (as well as keeping the good...
This is a list of a few of the cool links I found around the web. A bunch of them I already forgot where I found (ADHD), but whenever possible I reference the source. I found a Stardew Valley TV simulator that gives your local weather and fortune (not local, I think). This is the cutest thing on this list tbh. I...
A little bit of a Listography update that I'd like to share here as well... as a list, of course. Listo laundry list: Done Set up a different type of calendar for the year. I think it looks pretty cute if I do say so myself. Also decided to keep all months there instead of deleting them. It'll literally be my yearly...
Hover for more info, click to enlarge. I ordered a dated planner for 2026 from a bookbinder friend of mine, who hand-sews notebooks and planners and rebinds books for ppl. I gave her my old one by Todavia as inspiration because I love their two-page weekly set up with the week on one side + a free space for writing...
Went to a hair salon today. First time in... Idk how many years. Four maybe? Way before the pandemic I was already cutting my own hair, and the last time I risked going to one, I was not happy with the end result. But this one was good. I love how it came out! The vibes of the place are also correct. A salon...
Today I got around to updating a few links and chapters/notes around this living, ever-changing digital book. All cat pics are now properly tagged as /cats, and I've updated the Bear Blog tweaks master list with the link to its updated version on Start.me. And I've finally, finally listed all the tags on the Index...
Many months ago I asked around about bookmark solutions. People went straight to things like Pocket and Instapaper, but that wasn't at all what I meant. My question wasn't about saving articles to read later (I use Raindrop for this btw), but links for cool stuff, browser games, reference links etc. I first tried...
