Anime News Network reported that The Dangers in My Heart will receive a third anime season in 2027. I reviewed the first two seasons on NLJ (see first season and second season reviews). While my first season review was mixed, erring on positive for a solid finishing stretch, I gave the second season two thumbs up...
I was inconsistent in publishing daily Pook-Emu Bee links last week. But I am on the ball this week. If you enjoy the (almost) daily links and commentary, you can also follow via feed. Links from around the web 1. Japanese Pokémon Pokopia player invents fully automated resource-collecting facility, but it involves...
Quoted crane house sandwich shop by Kat (Our Adventures in Japan) My sandwich was a BLT plus hummus...love that they toast the bread! And since crispy bacon is hard to come by in Japan, their "bacon" was more like the outer part of a baked ham! loved it! I came across Kat & Satoshi’s long-running Our Adventures in...
I missed posting Pook-Emu Bee links on Friday and Saturday was newsletter day. But today we are back and ready to trim down my list of unused Pook-Emu Bee links. If you enjoy the (almost) daily links and commentary, you can also follow via feed. 1. Quinn Cook says overseas hoops career hurt by global politics (Mark...
Quoted A Brief Mid-March Snow in Brooklyn by Nicholas A. Ferrell (thenewleafjournal.com) As I was walking in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn New York, I noticed small, dust-sized white particles falling sporadically from the sky. After about 30 seconds I was satisfied that I was not hallucinating – it...
Replied to Why you shouldn't link to Instagram anything anywhere by Jatan (Journal J) I want to use the case of Instagram to highlight a larger point about how we can be mindful of which links we share on the Internet. Whether you’re a writer, a creator or simply sharing things on socials, a 'bad link' can affect...
I missed publishing a set of Pook-Emu Bee links yesterday due to an assignment. But that does not mean I was not collecting links. If you enjoy the (almost) daily links and commentary, you can also follow via feed. Links from around the web 1. Former Watchtower buildings in Brooklyn Heights eyed for new housing...
Replied to Why This Blog Uses RSS (Not a Newsletter) by Sebastian Sastre (Selective Creativity) I’m not against newsletters. They work for many goals. But for this blog — a conceptual stream, not a growth funnel — the goal is different. I want you to read the ideas in full, in a place you choose, without a middleman...
I missed publishing a set of Pook-Emu Bee links yesterday. But that just means I have more links saved for today. If you enjoy the (almost) daily links and commentary, you can also follow via feed. 1. Qatar Wants to Bolster Security Partnership with US After Iran’s Strikes (Reuters [via gCaptain]. March 10, 2026.)...
There was no daily Pook-Emu Bee link post yesterday because it was Newsletter Leaf Journal day (see the links in Newsletter 270). But the next Newsletter is next Saturday. Below, I present the March 8 edition of Pook-Emu Bee. Links from around the web 1. Revisiting Wilt’s Knee Injury Comeback (Harlan Schreiber....
I am workng on a few “work” projects today. But I have enough time for a new set of daily Pook-Emu Bee links. If you enjoy the links, you can follow via feed (although I personally recommend following the main site feed for all of my postings). Links from around the web 1. Iconic 121-year-old NYC Italian restaurant...
I recently read about the announcement of the generation 10 Pokémon entries, Winds and Waves. I have yet to actually play through Scarlet and Violet and have no current plans to buy a Switch 2, so I may not be the place to go for a review of the new entries. But I can still offer my immediate first impression, or...
