We went to the Small and Delighfull Narrow gauge West show in Shepton Mallet for me to indulge in a bit of narrow gauge modelling at its finest. Queing to get in was bitterly cold - a portent of the snow we were to get the following week in Wales.

As I write this I am watching the Brits which seems to have grown huge over the past few years but this year has brought in a massive amount of American stars. Obviously the UK is the place to be. So the Highlights: The Darkness winning Best British and also Best Rock Act though Paula and I were routing for Muse for...

At long long last we got to see The Darkness, live at Lees Cliffe Hall Folkstone after the gig was postponed from last year. Vic Reeves turned up plus entorage and I have never seen the hall so packed. The Darkness were brilliant, loud but clear - I felt my clothes get buffeted by the sound - awesome. In the encore...

CDWOW have settled two weeks before the court case that the BPI brought against them for selling parallel imported music CDs. Without going into the legalities of who is allowed to sell what to who and where, it means hike from £8.99 to £10.99 for CD Albums in the Top 75 of the Chart (Which is not really...

Every other day when I get to work the cleaners have cleaned my desk. This is great and a brilliant service except that they move everything on my desk to do the cleaning and don't "put it back where they found it" - a long held principle that I was brought up on. I have two screens on my desk a switch box, intrays,...

So here we go again the Tube drivers are about to go on strike again because of fears of safety. This means that more people will be travelling by road which has a higher death rate than the railways which means that for commuters it will be less safe. For the Tube drivers it will be safer of course but never mind...

Last night Paula, Chris, Liz and I went to see what I consider to be the "Rock Opera of the Year" - Muse live at Wembley. And what a fantastic night! The first support were awful and fortunately I have no idea who they were. The second were Elbow - must get some of their stuff but live in a big arena their delicate...

What can I say! The greatest sporting event of my life - yes better than that soccer event in '66. England have beaten Australia to win the 2003 Rugby World Cup. I watched the game in the Clubhouse of Shirley Wanderers RFC which was packed and the atmosphere was amazing. There was even a bloke there wearing a...
