Auditions - 4 📹Self Tapes - 4 of those auditions... 🏷️Adverts - 4 Plenty of adverts this month, but fairly quiet otherwise. Things have also slowed somewhat at the day-job so my job hunt has resumed. The temptation is always there to commit some time to re-training, maybe see if I can go for a more specialised bill...
I got my start in youth theatre. Back when I was 7 years old my parents enrolled me in our local drama club mainly because it seemed fun, and little old me was a bit shy and needed an outlet. There were no motivations behind it, no hopes of stardom, my parents were definitely not the type to push me on stage to...
Auditions - 4 📹Self Tapes - 4 🤝In Person - 1 of those auditions... 🏷️Adverts - 3 🎭Theatre - 1 📺TV - 1 Lots more adverts this month, which I don't really mind. The opportunity is always great, and the situations are usually strange enough that filming them is a fun process in and of itself. Honestly though, it has...
Auditions - 5 📹Self Tapes - 4 👀Recall - 1 of those auditions... 🏷️Adverts - 2 🎭Theatre - 1 📺TV - 1 A bit late with this month's update, but glad to say it's been due to a hectic month, not me losing interest in the blog already. First off, I was lucky enough to spend a few days at Wortley Hall taking part in the Political Education and Organisation training course hosted by the Actor's Union...
Auditions - 7 📹Self Tapes - 6 🤝In Person - 1 of those auditions... 🏷️Adverts - 6 🎭Theatre - 1 Outcomes 🔁Recalls - 2 ✏️Pencils - 1 What a month. Every audition an absolute banger of an opportunity and some great progress made through the casting process. A pencil basically means you're one of the top candidates for...
Auditions - 3 📹Self-Tapes - 2 🤝In-person - 1 Of those auditions... 🎭Theatre - 1 🏷️Adverts - 2 Admittedly not a great quantity of auditions to kick off the year, but I really couldn't argue with the quality. Both adverts would have offered a fair bit of travel and a lovey working experience with great directors and...
Over the past few months I've had two very similar conversations with people who interact with the creative arts in totally different ways. The first happened while we were shooting a short film. One of our cast wasn't an actor at all, he's actually a teacher who has absolutely no ambition to forge a career in the...
