Getting pencilled is basically the team saying "Hey, make sure you're free on these days. We might need you." which is great,...
Published by AHE. on 01st October 2026 I taped for an advert about a week ago. I won't go into details for obvious reasons but they wanted me to tape for multiple characters. One character required a second person in the tape, so my endlessly patient partner had to step in for that one, and the second required...
Published by AHE. on 21st September 2026 Self tapes are basically the default form of audition these days. So much so that when I actually get in the room with someone I make a point of thanking them for going to the trouble of setting it up. I've never run an audition process before, but from making my own work I...
. Published by AHE. on 12th September 2026 I haven't sat down and written anything in a while: this is in large part due to the backlog of monthly updates I still have to get through, and the prospect of revisiting a bunch of failed auditions is a bit depressing, but a book I bought on a whim has made me want to...

At the time of writing I still haven't heard back, but...
I want to talk about Signal, but "current affairs" won't let me. Published by AHE. on 7th April 2026 If I could ditch my phone completely and go back to a flip-phone, or one of those cool slidey ones from the 2000s, I would. Phones were so fun back then. The same goes for computers. Once we move I'm planning to get...
A roundup of auditions, recalls, and booked jobs from March 2026. Published by AHE. on 7th April 2026 Auditions - 2 of those auditions Ads - 2 (self-tapes) March was another slow one, but again I find myself okay with that. Perhaps this is a conversation I should be having with my rep, but on the whole I find myself...
Published by AHE. on 06th April 2026 Louis released a new documentary and responses have been mixed. Inside the Manosphere is the new documentary from Louis Theroux. Whilst I think the hype around its release was well deserved, and the film does a lot of things right, it seems to be a victim of its own subject...
Published by AHE. on 13th March 2026 or "In praise of Bear Blog" It's the one year anniversary of this blog, and I've been thinking a lot about why I started AHE, what my motivations and goals were, and why I continue to write. To keep things brief I, like many others, got my start writing a blog/being involved with...
