The third day of 2025 dished out this winter's first (and maybe last) snow followed by sunny weather: a perfect opportunity to venture out. So I went to NUE. There wasn't much on the menu besides my good old friend D-BADA.
Summers in our neck of the wood are getting increasingly hot. And while the last one wasn't as a suffocating scorcher as it could have been, it was hot enough to make me concerned for the well-being of my ADS-B station. You see, the Fujitsu Esprimo Q556/2 that hosted the ADS-B station was sitting right next to a...
With just a few hours before 2025 arrives, it's safe to assume that this is going to be the last post of 2024. Considering the current state of the world, wishing you a happy year seems silly. Stay safe, take care of yourself and your loved ones, and let's hope that we all make it through 2025 unscathed.
We flew back to Germany from Aalborg. To put it mildly, there was not much going on airplane-wise in AAL. But while we were having a quick bite before boarding, I spotted this Beechcraft King Air.
On our way to Denmark, we made a short stop in Amsterdam. My plan was to spend some time on Saturday and Sunday capturing airplanes, but the Dutch weather decided otherwise.
A quick ADS-B station update. A simple Python script is now responsible for collecting system vitals (RAM, storage, and CPU temperature). Speaking of CPU temperature, it's now possible to specify the correct temperature sensor in the config.php file. There is no longer need to manually specify the latitude and...
Yesterday, my ADS-B station broke a new record by tracking no fewer than 120 (yes, that's one hundred twenty) aircraft.
So last weekend I went to Frankfurt. I booked a single night at Staycity, and my plan was to just grab a light dinner and watch TV in the evening.
We plan to spend the Christmas break with my in-laws in Denmark, which means interacting with people — a lot. The introvert that I am, I need some time alone to gather mental strength to get through Christmas unscathed.
You may or may not have noticed, that this very blog has been down for a while. Apparently, something went terribly wrong at Contabo, and it took my VPS down with it. After ~24 hours and counting of downtime, and frustratingly pointless exchange with Contabo's so-called support, I bit the bullet and ordered a new...
ADS-B station prominently shows the number of aircraft in its range. To spruce up this tiny feature, I've tweaked it so that the background color of the counter badge changes depending on the current number.
