Built a tiny posting interface to cross-post content from this site to elsewhere on-demand if needed. Since I exclude my daynotes in my main rss feed, this helps reduce the friction a bit if I want to push out certain sections of a daynote on a whim. Still crude and janky but seems to do the job! #indieweb 🔗
Those four words - ‘But it is mine’; Definitely makes it all worth it. I have a similar setup wherein I use a Hetzner VPS just to proxy in all traffic to my selfhosted stuff. Initially had wireguard running across my devices. Switched to tailscale for a bit more ease of management. Maybe every six months or so...
Tom’s post nudged me to revive my Digital photo frame that I set up last year. Turned it on this morning and it lit up like it was setup a minute ago. Love it! Took me a minute though to figure out how I’d initially set it up since I missed documenting it then. So here’s a quick note for posterity. Hardware Display:...
My wife and I still haven’t figured where/when we want to retire yet, but sadly the U.S. seems to be a bleaker option with every passing day. I don’t think any country has really figured out their healthcare system well and those that had a decent stab at it seem to be hell bent on breaking it. For now, thankfully...
On the phone, I use Signal’s note-to-self to record on-the-go thoughts or to quickly bookmark stuff. Later when on the laptop, I migrate these to my Trilium notes. After years of dabbling between multiple ’notes’ applications, this has stuck. Using the default messaging app as my notes ‘filter’ definitely...
After a failed attempt last week, I made it up to Mbankolo this morning. Romero joined me and we ran into an LGF at the base of the hill. This place is pretty neat and way better than Mt. Febe! So glad I decided to give this another shot. On the way back, instead of coming via the market, we decided to climb up...
Had a real good time at the Marine ball this year. This one felt way more ‘connected’. Probably because we knew almost everyone? Had to head back home around 2130 right around the time the music was kicking in. The souvenir coin looked pretty tame as compared to the coin the Yaoundé detachment designed earlier this...
Why does it feel like I’ve been writing the same story multiple times over the last three days? Because, maybe I actually did? Wrote something to that effect earlier today to one of the teams I’ve been trying to resolve an ongoing issue with. They are a good bunch of folks. But there seems to be a disconnect...
Stopped by the Campost office earlier this Monday and bought a good ton of stamps. Added them to my digital stamp collection. The Post office received a fresh coat of paint last month for the Presidential election. Staff were super welcoming and were super curious as to why we were purchasing that many stamps....
Because power, greed and corruption blindsided us and we got complacent with short term profits? Beyond ridiculous that we’ve been running on layered CR band-aids almost every year making it more of a norm than an exception. 🔗
ssp 2025-11-02T14:49:59.058Z@gobino Haven't hit their 10mb/month limit yet! gobino 2025-10-30T13:42:52.000ZProtecting your email identity with free tools (Proton, Duck, Mozilla, Addy) 📱I got more serious about online safety, transitioning from 1 email address to several, outlining why and the (free) tools you can...
Reorganized my Trilium Notes a bit. Over time I started dumping notes in there and somewhere it all went a bit wayward. I really need to start using it as a proper knowledge base. The good thing is most content that I refer to frequently is all in there. This along with my Signal ‘Note-to-self’ are my go-to spaces....
