Kami's Corner
Kami
Hi! I'm Kami. She/Her, name written with capital K. People keep stylizing my name as starting with a lowercase k, and I'm not too sure why? I mean, i don't mind, i think it's fun. Anyways, I'm a trans girl working in webdev, primarily using php (the best programming language). I love reading mahnwa, playing videogames and reading cultivation novels of questionable quality. I have strong opinions about a lot of things that really don't matter (and some that do) and I'm using this blog to make that everyone else's problem. My favorite book is lord of the mysteries, my favorite movie is your name and my favorite music genre is folk punk.

heya! every now and then, I'll see a post complaining about how narrow the focus of the small/indie web is. today, that was this post, by Yunzi, where they talk about non-tech topics being absent from the indie web... using kagi small web search results as an example. despite the name, kagi small web is in no way...
Heya! It's been a while! Mostly just because I've been really busy with life. Oh well, today I wanna talk about my favorite software licenses very briefly. Now, I'm not a lawyer, I don't know much about the legal aspects of software. But i do find software licensing kind of fascinating. Specifically, the idea of...
Heya! So, it's pretty late right now, but I've kind of been meaning to talk about a sort of habit I've picked up a while back, that i think might be useful to other people as well. So, for context, you gotta know that I'm actually a pretty indecisive person when it comes to very inconsequential stuff. Mostly that...
Heya! So, a while ago, in this post, i talked about some random quotes which you can view in the random quotes widget on my other website. So, since I have nothing better to do, I might as well share some more of my favorite that I've collected over the years. So... Here are some more quotes, along with some context...
Heya! So, I was talking about this a couple blogposts ago, but I'm actually making a bearblog-based rpg currently. I still have no idea when I'll be done with it (it'll probably take quite a while still), but the process of making it has been really fun! What initially prompted the project was this video by...
Heya! So, as you might've heard about recently, this month the augustory blogging challenge is happening over here! Which, inspired me to talk a bit about blogging challenges, and why I personally tend not to participate in most of them. So: The thing is, right, when you've been blogging for a decent while, you kind...
Heya! So, it's been a while. I think I've only made like, one other post this entire month? Which, is kind of a glacial pace. Mostly, it's just because I've been rather busy with a ton of life stuff™. I did find some time to do various other small projects though! Like adding some features to guestbooks, as I've...
Heya! So, it's been a while since I've last talked about my guestbook website, guestbooks.kamiscorner.xyz. And while development has slowed down a tad due to me being fairly busy, I did still add a couple of fun features - Which I'll talk about in this post :3 Guestbook RSS FeedsFirst of all, every guestbook now has...
Heya! So, James recently made a blogpost opensourcing the python script he used to generate his various personality quizzes! (Blogger Archetype quiz, what microformat are you, etc.) At the end of the post, he says this: And if you feel inspired to make a better generator that gives someone HTML they can use on their...
A couple months back, i stumbled upon the Wikipedia page for COBOL, and it's honestly incredible. You can read it here Read it? Alrighty, I'm gonna gush about it a bit now. First of all, the whole gravestone story was great. Peak comedy right there. I also love how the development timeline of COBOL is kind of a...
Heya! For this... Well, I suppose last months book club, since we moved back the deadline a bit, I wanted to talk about 17776. So, first of all, 17776 is by far one of my favorite books ever. And part of that is because of how much advantage it takes of the medium that it's being told in. 17776 is told through a...
In case you missed my other post about this, I've been beating all the mainline Final Fantasy games in order of release. And, I just now got done beating the third one! First of all: This is by far the best game in the series so far, I'd say. It combines the combat of FF1 with the story-focus of FF2, while improving...
